As many people know, our OLLY Charity Shop is proudly based inside the Strand Shopping Centre in Bootle — so it was lovely to receive the Centre’s latest Sustainability Update for 2026.
The update highlights some fantastic progress made across the Centre over the last year, including an impressive 75% recycling rate and the achievement of 0% waste sent to landfill. The Strand also confirmed that all communal electricity across the Centre now comes from 100% renewable energy sources.
It’s great to see the Strand continuing to invest in both the environment and the local community, with more free family events planned throughout the year — including an upcoming Star Wars themed event this May.
As part of the Strand community, we’re proud that the OLLY Charity Shop continues to support children affected by murder and culpable road death, helping fund activity sessions, safe spaces, and special days out for our members.
If you’re visiting the Strand, don’t forget to pop into the OLLY Charity Shop on the ground floor next to the Post Office — you might just find yourself a bargain while supporting a great cause. 💛
