We’ve just received the latest issue of The Bootle Buzz — Sefton Council’s update from the Bootle Town Centre Transformation Team, and there’s plenty going on!
Highlights include:
- Demolition Progress – The iconic Mons Square canopy has now been removed, and Building 5 is fully demolished. The next phase includes further groundworks to pave the way for Bootle’s future as a lively hub for shopping, leisure, and community life.
- Bootle Children’s Literary Festival – A pirate-themed celebration filled the Strand with authors, crafts, VR treasure hunts, and an ‘Audience with Frank Cottrell-Boyce’ at Bootle Town Hall.
- Social Value & Opportunities – Local learners from Hugh Baird College gained hands-on experience during the demolition phase and Regeneration Brainery workshops.
- Salt & Tar Music Weekender – Nile Rodgers & CHIC, The Waterboys, and The Saw Doctors are confirmed for August 2026, with a temporary new venue due to ongoing regeneration.
- November’s Festive Funday – Over 800 free hot chocolates, 500 selection boxes, and plenty of family-friendly activities made for a brilliant free day of fun in the community!
And while you’re at the Strand… why not pop into the OLLY Charity Shop? You might just find a hidden gem or two — perfect for last-minute Christmas gifts. You’ve still got time to grab a bargain in time for Christmas.
