On Saturday 15th February, our OLLY members had the incredible opportunity to step back in time and experience the thrill of the Jurassic era at the Jurassic Take-Over Day at the M&S Arena in Liverpool! This unforgettable event was packed with adventure, excitement, and larger-than-life dinosaurs that left everyone in awe.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by state-of-the-art animatronic dinosaurs, bringing history to life in a way we’d never seen before. Our young explorers got up close with a towering Brontosaurus, roared alongside a mighty T-Rex, and even tried to outpace a speedy Raptor! The fully immersive, interactive experience had something for everyone, from the bravest dino-fans to those who preferred to watch the action unfold from a safe distance.
The 60-minute theatre performance was a highlight, keeping everyone on the edge of their seats. It was packed with thrills, surprises, and plenty of audience participation! Some of our members chose to sit back and enjoy the spectacle, while others fully embraced the adventure, dodging and diving among the dinosaurs. The show was specially designed to accommodate all personalities, ensuring a fun-filled experience for all.
Beyond the theatre, our OLLY adventurers had a chance to train as Rangers, just in case the dinosaurs got a little too excited! We explored the Dinosaur Hatchery, snapped photos in the Gyrosphere, and even posed for selfies with some of the most fearsome (but friendly!) prehistoric creatures. The Jurassic Park and Jurassic World tribute areas were a firm favourite, with plenty to see and learn about, including a fascinating Paleontology Exhibit showcasing dinosaur skeletons.
For those needing a bit of a breather, the Story Time area provided a quiet space to unwind, while others took full advantage of the hands-on activities dotted throughout the event. Plus, we were among the first to meet two brand-new dinosaurs making their debut at the event!
With three exciting sessions throughout the day, the event was carefully planned to ensure that every visitor had the best experience possible. From meeting baby dinosaurs to wandering through the specialist dinosaur zones, every moment was packed with adventure. The smiles, laughter, and sheer excitement from our OLLY members proved just how much fun they had!
